Trump Issues Final Warning to Iran as

"Operation Epic Fury" Enters Decisive Phase

WASHINGTON / TEHRAN | April 2, 2026

In a chilling escalation of rhetoric, US President Donald Trump has warned the Islamic Republic of Iran that it faces total infrastructure collapse if it does not meet Washington’s "maximalist" demands within the next three weeks.

Addressing the nation from the White House, the President declared that while the US-led military campaign is "nearing completion," the final phase will involve strikes so severe they will "bring Iran back to the Stone Age."

"The Hard Part is Done"

Entering the 33rd day of a conflict that began in late February, President Trump touted the success of US and Israeli operations, claiming that Iran’s naval and air capabilities have been "eviscerated."

"We are on track to complete all of America’s military objectives shortly—very shortly," Trump said. "We are going to hit them extremely hard over the next two to three weeks. We are going to bring them back to the Stone Age, where they belong, unless a deal is made."

The President specifically threatened Iran’s civilian infrastructure, stating that if a ceasefire is not brokered, the US is prepared to hit "every one of their electric generating plants—probably simultaneously."

The Battle for the Strait of Hormuz

The primary flashpoint remains the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively blocked, causing global Brent crude prices to surge past $120 per barrel and US gas prices to top $4 per gallon.

In a controversial move, Trump urged other nations dependent on the waterway to "show courage" and "just take it." He dismissed concerns about the legalities of the blockade, asserting that the Strait would "open up naturally" once the conflict concluded.

Iran’s Defiant Response

Tehran has moved quickly to dismiss the threats. The Iranian Foreign Ministry described the US demands as "irrational," while the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai took a swipe at the administration’s rhetoric on social media.

The Quip: Reacting to the "Stone Age" remark, the consulate noted that civilizations dating back to the Achaemenid Empire (550 BC) "don't really do 'again.' They just are."

Retaliation: Within six hours of Trump’s speech, Israel’s military reported at least four barrages of Iranian missile fire, signaling that Tehran has no immediate intention of backing down.

Global and Domestic Fallout

The conflict, dubbed Operation Epic Fury, has tested international alliances. French President Emmanuel Macron has already pushed back, calling a military operation to force open the Strait "unrealistic" and urging a negotiated ceasefire.

Domestically, the war is causing a rift in Trump's base, as "America First" supporters navigate the tension between avoiding foreign intervention and the economic reality of rising energy costs.
