From Failed Attempts to Fatal Push: The Chilling Plot Behind Ketan Agrawal’s Murder at Lohagad Fort
The tragic death of 26-year-old Ketan Agrawal (a real estate firm director from Pune) at Lohagad Fort was initially reported as a trekking accident on June 18, 2026.
The detail regarding the three failed attempts highlights how the duo systematically targeted Ketan before successfully executing their plan.
The Three Prior Failed Attempts & Sabotage
Investigations uncovered that Siya was deeply unwilling to marry Ketan and conspired with Chetan to eliminate him.
The Bali Passport Sabotage: In the first week of June 2026, Ketan and Siya traveled to Mumbai airport to fly out for a lavish pre-wedding photo shoot in Bali, Indonesia. Upon reaching the airport, Ketan's passport suddenly went missing, forcing them to cancel the trip. Police later discovered that Siya had deliberately stolen and hidden his passport to avoid going on the trip.
The First Lohagad Reconnaissance: Siya pressured Ketan into going trekking at Lohagad Fort. They visited the fort together, with Chetan trailing them, but the execution failed or the opportunity did not present itself.
The Second Lohagad Attempt: On June 14, just days before the murder, they visited Lohagad Fort a second time. Once again, conditions or circumstances did not align for them to execute the plan safely without drawing immediate attention. (Note: There was also a third scheduled trip to the fort where Ketan pulled out at the last minute, totaling three disrupted or failed setups before the final execution).
The Final Execution on June 18
Determined to complete the plot before her birthday on June 19, Siya insisted on a final trek to Lohagad Fort on the morning of June 18, luring Ketan under the pretext of an early birthday celebration.
The Stalker in a Hoodie: Chetan Chaudhary arrived at the fort ahead of them. To avoid recognition on CCTV cameras, he wore a thick winter hoodie despite the intense summer heat—a detail that later made the police highly suspicious.
The Fatal Push: Chetan stealthily followed the couple up to a secluded cliffside. Once they reached the edge, Siya and Chetan caught Ketan off guard and pushed him into a 350-to-400-foot-deep gorge.
The Alibi: Immediately after, Siya fabricated a story, frantically calling Ketan’s family and the police to claim he had simply lost his balance and slipped while trying to take photographs in strong winds.
To further the ruse, she even posted a grieving tribute video on social media the next day to garner sympathy.
How the Plot Unraveled
The case took a turn because Ketan’s family fiercely rejected the accident theory, pointing out that Ketan was an experienced, regular trekker who knew the local terrain well.
Prompted by their persistent doubts, the Pune Rural Police cross-referenced mobile tower data, call logs, and fort CCTV footage. The technical evidence exposed that Siya and Chetan had been in constant contact and were present at the exact same coordinates on the cliff.
Both suspects were arrested and subsequently confessed to the murder and criminal conspiracy.
