The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has threatened to resume its nationwide agitation just days after calling off a 37-day protest. The student-led organization accuses the Union Government of breaching the verbal commitments made during high-level talks, citing ongoing police crackdowns, detentions, and fresh FIRs against student activists across multiple states.

Why the Truce is Faltering

The CJP suspended its month-long agitation on July 25 following preliminary talks with the government. However, during a joint press conference in New Delhi, CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das stated that the decision to pause was made "in good faith," expecting the Centre to honor its word.

"When we called off the protest, we worried that once the momentum waned, the government might individually target people... Reports of arrests and serious charges being slapped on student protesters in states like Bihar prove those fears right."
